Weather Stations & Water Quality Buoy
As of June 2007 real-time data weather data has been monitored from two weather stations; one is on the top of the TREC tower, and the other weather station is at Beach 2. The parameters monitored by the weather stations include wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, relative humidity, barametric pressure, rainfall, and solar radiation. On Tuesday, May 20, 2008 the water quality buoy was deployed at Presque Isle State Park off Beach 2. This joint venture between the Regional Science Consortium, PA DEP, PA Sea Grant, and PA DCNR will provide data for the E. coli predictive model used on the swimming beaches of Presque Isle. This buoy will report real-time data on water temperature, water conductivity, pH, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen. Visit the website for real-time data on our buoy, as well as our weather stations.
